a florida meet-cute & a pennsylvania promise

From my very first consultation call with Nathasha and Ryan, we immediately bonded over the fact that they were living in Florida, a state I had only recently moved from myself! Ryan, who grew up near the Eastern Pennsylvania region, wanted nothing more than to bring their wedding day up north to celebrate surrounded by his childhood friends and family in the Bethlehem area. Nathasha’s family, originally from Venezuela, made the incredible journey to support them, which made their wedding day an even more sentimental celebration.

Nathasha and Ryan originally met at Universal CityWalk, as Nathasha was working as a waitress and Ryan was visiting the park. Ryan was very smooth with it, asking for a table, as well as Nathasha's phone number. A couple of years later, and here we are celebrating their wedding day! The smallest gesture can make the biggest difference.

During our Details Meeting closer to the big day (a handful of months after our Consult Call), I discovered that Nathasha and Ryan had actually moved to the Bethlehem area! It turns out we were a bunch of Floridians who all flocked north together, navigating the transition to a beautiful new season of life and a new place to live. Throughout the entire wedding planning process, they were the epitome of   kind, encouraging, and organized.

The wedding morning perfectly showcased the timeless charm that makes Bethlehem wedding photography so so stunning. Ryan and his groomsmen began their day getting ready at the historic Hotel Bethlehem. Set in the heart of the historic district, its classy old-money vibe provided an luxe and timeless backdrop for Ryan's portraits alongside his parents and groomsmen. The energy all morning was relaxed and celebratory, with a group of lifelong friends & family members genuinely thrilled to see Ryan tie the knot.

Just down the road, Nathasha and her bridal party were preparing at the Lafayette Suite, a gem of an Airbnb. The atmosphere was filled with laughter, music, and seemingly zero stress. Capturing those sweet, candid moments of Nathasha laughing with her bridesmaids, her mom helping her with her veil, and sharing quiet moments of anticipation is exactly why I love being a wedding photographer in Bethlehem. The girls were truly soaking in every single second of the morning before the big celebration.

Then the time came for the couple to officially tie the knot, and the chosen venue was none other than the incredible Holy Infancy Catholic Church. For any artist, the interior of this church is an absolute dream. The dramatic architecture, stunning stained glass, and grand altar create a reverent atmosphere.

As the ceremony began, the choir filled the sanctuary with angelic voices that legitimately gave me goosebumps (and made me a little emotional?? Haha). Ryan stood at the altar, managing some silent wedding-day nerves, but the moment the doors opened and Nathasha appeared at the back of the aisle, all of that tension was traded with joy and love. Following a beautiful traditional ceremony, we captured elegant family and bridal party portraits utilizing the rich textures and historic backdrop of the church before heading off to the reception.

The celebration then moved over to the Wilbur Mansion for an outdoor cocktail hour and an indoor reception. I was absolutely ecstatic to photograph here, as this was my very first time working at the highly-anticipated and newly renovated Wilbur Mansion. Let me tell you, it completely lived up to any/all expectations. It was so so beautiful!

The weather was perfect with a cool breeze in the air, allowing guests to mingle comfortably outdoors during cocktail hour. Moving indoors, the reception space was modern and chic. The staff at Wilbur Mansion was incredibly attentive and kind, ensuring everything flowed.

The reception was a beautiful blur of heartfelt speeches, happy tears, and an energized dance floor filled with guests dancing the night away. It was a day where beautiful new memories were created, leaving everyone with joyful hearts & and sore feet.

Congratulations to the new Mr. and Mrs. O'Dowd! May your marriage be filled with a lifetime of love, laughter, and beautiful beginnings. I am so happy for you two! 🤍
